Mike is currently the Board Treasurer of Pronto of Long Island, a community outreach center that serves the needy in Brentwood, Central Islip and Bay Shore. Mike has been volunteering at Pronto for over 40 years and served there in many capacities over the years. He began volunteering there picking up and delivering furniture donations to the less fortunate in the community. He felt the ability to accept a donation from someone who wanted to help others and then actually delivering the furnishings to families in need, was truly worth his time and efforts. Mike also assisted the new immigrants who came to Pronto to learn English and needed other services.

Mike was born in Manhattan, NY.  His father was born in Ireland and his mother’s parents were from Lebanon, in the Middle East. They moved from the city and settled in East Meadow, Nassau County. Mike Graduated from East Meadow High School, and later received an Associates degree from Nassau Community College.

In 1976, Mike moved to Brentwood to raise his family.  All four of Mike’s children graduated from Brentwood High School.  Mike worked the night shifts in the trucking industry loading trucks.  In 1978 he was introduced to PRONTO by a Deacon in St. Luke’s Church where he assisted with religious instruction classes. Mike is enjoying his retirement, his children and four grandchildren. Today he remains grateful to be able to be part of the leadership team of PRONTO and invites all to help in their Mission of “People Helping People”.
